7A - Testing the Hypothesis

New Gas Pump Design Gas stations throughout the country still refuse to install systems that allow customers to pay for gas with cash without walking inside the store. This improvement could speed up the time customers stay at the gas pump and wouldn't reduce revenue if implemented correctly. The who: Gas stations throughout the United States. The what: They do not allow customer to pay for gas without entering the store and waiting in line. The why: This could save customer time and grow demand through diversification. Hypothesis Gas station pumps that can use both cash and card would be a convenience for everyone who ever rides in a motor vehicle. Testing the who:  There are people that reside in other countries who also have the desire of a more convenient way of paying for gas with cash. After my interviews, I also found that various gas station employees would also benefit from having less in-store customers. Testing the what: This situation coul

6A - Identifying Opportunities in Economic and Regulatory Trends

Identifying Opportunities Regulatory Trends Sports Betting Sports betting is a hot new topic that many states are now starting to address. A Supreme Court ruling last May ruled that a federal ban on state-sanctioned sports betting was unconstitutional. According to the Orlando Sentinel, over two dozen states are considering authorizing a form of state-sanctioned sports betting. The possibility of many states legalizing sports betting would be a great opportunity to produce revenue as professional sports and gambling bring in significant revenue every year. The prototypical customer would be anyone with a real interest in sports and doesn't dislike betting on the sports they are interested in. This opportunity would be hard to exploit on a large level but easy to implement on a more basic level. Big companies and established betting organizations could capitalize more easy than most other people but many people could make smaller and more local sports betting operations. I

5A - Identifying Local Opportunities

Assignment 5 Local Opportunity #1 Inked in regret: How to handle a bad tattoo https://www.alligator.org/the_avenue/inked-in-regret-how-to-handle-a-bad-tattoo/article_0033af08-2a50-11e9-9d3e-2390cadd4987.html This article showcases some specific cases of bad tattoos that some people may regret later down the road. It references Ariana Grande's tattoo that means something different than what was planned and it also talks about local Gators and their stories of regrettable tattoos. The article later talks about remedies such as cover ups that can help fix these tattoos. The only catch is that the person has to dislike their tattoo and trust their tattoo artist. The problem in the article is bad tattoos and the possibility of cover ups. Those with bad tattoos who may want cover ups are the people who have this problem. 4A - Opportunity

The Opportunity of Paying at the Pump 1. Derived from the bug list for my second assignment, the implementation of gas pumps that take cash could be a potential opportunity.  2. The nuisance of having to enter the gas station and wait in line to pay for gas is one that could be eliminated with machines that could take money and give back change. Paying with a credit or debit card as an alternative is the only other way customers can buy gas in an efficient manner currently. The unmet need of an efficient fuel up for a vehicle, when using cash, is something that could benefit every driver needed to pay with cash and has no need to enter the convenience store. This need has always existed because all gas pumps only take various cards. Even in the past, gas stations utilized attendants, which is not viable profit-wise for most gas stations today. In order to meet this need currently, people using cash walk in to the store to pay at the register. I would say that this opportunity has

3A - Entrepreneurship Story

Entrepreneur Story When I was growing up as a young child in my neighborhood in Gainesville, there were always plenty of other similar-aged kids in the neighborhood to play with. Our front yard became the main field for daily soccer games, football games, and baseball. After years of continuously hosting and playing games with my brothers and our friends, we began to run out of different games that we had not already played excessively. Having that unmet need of an outside way to have fun, usually requiring some type of athletics, allowed my brothers and I to brainstorm multiple different ways that we could come up with new activities or spice up the pre-existing sports. After awhile of brainstorming and testing different ideas with different rules, we discovered that our backyard trampoline was the perfect instrument to change up different games and make them more interesting for all of us. We pioneered playing 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 soccer on the trampoline by using the trampoline posts a

2A - Bug List

Bug List 1. Buses moving past bus stops when I am on the way to school, especially around 9-10 am in the mornings. This occurs because the bus already has too many people on-board by the time it gets to my stop. 2. The Wendy's on Archer road has its drive thru lane right next to their prime parking spots making it impossible to back out if the drive thru line has people waiting in it. This problem is due to the original building construction plans of the store and its lack of planning. 3. Standard apartment couches for college students usually have skinny metal legs that are underneath the bottom of the couch. The legs are both easy to hit with your feet when you are not paying attention and painful due to the sharpness of the leg's edges. This problem occurs both because there is no protection on the legs and because I do not pay enough attention when navigating downstairs. 4. The amount of leaves that are always on top of my car, path to my apartment door, and backyar
